Upskilling the workforce

The sector needs workers who are trained and supported to provide high-quality, person-centred care and leaders who are equipped and enabled to navigate the sector through a period of unprecedented growth and transformation. For over five years, WIDI has been working with industry and government to identify and solve the structural barriers preventing the skills and training system and industry from collaborating and coordinating better – finding ways to do things differently to benefit students, workers, providers, the sector and the economy. As part of this work, WIDI has been building the capability of the sector through developing, piloting and evaluating innovative earn-and-learn models of training and employment.
