Understanding the workforce
We produce data, evidence and insights about the size and characteristics of the social service workforce
The social service sector is Australia's largest and fastest growing industry providing vital supports to our diverse communities. And yet, data about the social service workforce is severely lacking. The absence of robust, comparable data on the workforce hinders the sector’s efforts to effectively plan for the future. WIDI is working with partners in government and industry to better understand the workforce. As part of this work, WIDI is leading a first-of-its-kind project with the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) and ANU to apply the Multi-Agency Data Integration Project (MADIP) to the social service workforce.
