Higher Apprenticeships & Traineeships Social Services Extension Project

Building the capability of aged care and disability leaders

The Higher Apprenticeship and Traineeships Social Service Project (HATSSEP) is enhancing workforce capability across the aged care and disability sectors via an innovative “earn & learn” model providing upskilling and credentialling for 400 experienced workers. The program offers the opportunity for existing workers to undertake a Certificate IV Disability or an Advanced Diploma Community Sector Management.

All organisations and workers participating in HATSSEP receive wrap around supports to assist with the successful integration of training and workplace duties. Dedicated mentors are assigned to all workers and their supervisors to help build organisational capability in workplace training and create a safe, supported space for participants to grow and develop their knowledge and skills. A community of practice provides additional peer support for workplace supervisors.
